It Began In Africa...
The first in a series : )
On May 20th, 2011, 3rd Eye Visionaries, Kontakt Recordings, and Altered States Productions are coming together to bring you a charity event that will bring you closer to your tribal roots. This event is a communal gathering that will literally take us back to Africa. Explore your tribal roots in the underground with tribal dancing, performance, art, and drum circles. Feel the drums in your soul. Come together and remember why we do it, it is in our blood to dance together for hope and positivity. Let our tribe be as one this night to send our positive vibes and charity directly to Africa!
This charity event is for the Watoto Charity (Watoto Child Care Ministries | Global Portal) to send one of our own, Amanda Taylor, to Uganda for two months of volunteer work with orphans, aged zero to two. There are many vulnerable babies in Uganda who are abandoned or orphaned due to poverty, lack of education and the HIV/AIDS crisis. Almost all of them fail to make it to their 5th birthday. Watoto is a non-profit organization that takes these children in and provides food, medical care, and a holistic family environment to raise them in. Amanda's journey to Africa (May 30-July 30) will be to work alongside Watoto and care for the children.
