Coachella 2011 Bootlegs
View this Thread in Original format

Way, way, way behind on getting the thread up. (maybe because I've been traveling and partying too much?)

Like previous years, I go and get the Coachella Bootlegs for you from the Interwebs, review, tag them, and then send them out to you, free of charge. Just because.

If you're interested, please send me a PM with:

a. If you want mp3s or FLAC (if available).
b. If you want videos.
c. Your physical address (they come on DVDs).

A lot more videos this year: if you're not going to watch them, please don't request them. I'm looking at least 6 DVDs this year per person if not more.

Please send me your info even if you've gotten them from me in the past: I delete the mailing list each year.

Looks like I'll be planning to sending them out mid-June. I will guarantee I send them I out before I leave for Europe on June 25, though :D

Also, if someone has an FTP/SCP/website site for uploading (for distribution), that would be awesome too, but not really needed. I think we're looking at 25GB, but I won't know for another couple of weeks.

Attempting to make another ftp login. godaddy can be such a piece of sometimes.

Will hopefully end up in mobius9.com/tasocal

Still can't believe you have to make the ftp login name unique to any other user on godaddy. That's some bs.

sweet. By the way, sorry for the following questions but I've never heard anything about these/this type of thing before:

1. How is the audio quality? is this professionally recorded (i.e. recorded from the sound booth/mixer output and not from the speaker output)

2. Is the video the same that they would show on the screens (what i mean by this is not taken by someone in the crowd)?

3. Are they entire performances or just snippets?

if so, I'm probably going to buy a ton of these :D

edit: I guess you covered some of these in the OP, just would like some clarification on the quality.

1. Audio quality is pretty good. They are all fan-recorded, and the guys that go do this year-after-year are masters their work. They are not patched in from the sound board.
2. They are rips from the internet simulcast. So, not videos from the crowd (too amateur) or from the screens at the festival.
3. Most of the time, it's the whole performance.
4. They are not for sale.

The recorders do it for the love.
The people that share it do it because they enjoy the music.
I do this as a bonus to the people on the board. If you want to buy me a drink (or hook me up) sometime, I will always accept.

And, you're more than welcome to get them from the interwebs on your own...they're much more available than in the past (3 torrent boards, 3 dl sites). It just takes a lot of time to get them, review, retag and consolidate them.
