We enjoyed both nights. Jaytech was really good both nights and played a lot of anjunadeep tracks. A&B had similiar sets for the first hour plus. But Saturday they played more Anjuna and Oceanlab. I was surprised how hard they played but it fit the crowd. It was our first time seeing Mat Zo. He was really good last night, 4pm came really quick. Good times, easy to dance, good sound and lights. But too much strobe lights, IMO. Overall, very fun weekend in Hollywood :)

Your and your friends didn't stay till the end on friday??? :(

:( No, they wanted to leave when Mat Zo's set started. Although he started well, and they had to think about it for a minute.

Dang, you went both nights? I should have tried to get a scalper ticket one of the nights. I was just bummed with the whole ticket buying problem when they originally went on sale. It looks like it was good times!

For sure there were a lot of people trying to dump tickets on Friday but even on Saturday people were selling tickets. Plus they had released more $65 tickets, which is the same as what I had paid when they first came out.

Whatever Don, some people keep parting with A&B until 4pm...lol
Good seeing you there both nights...
As for the D kandi remix "on a good day:", they played it, but missed the best part IMO the piano touch to it. I was like...wth, the best part of this song/remix was missing, its at the peaking point, the piano touch, and A&B either cut or skipped it...anyone else notice this? I was real particular as that is BY FAR my favorite On a Good Day Remix. Soooo glad they didnt sell out and play the metroplis day remix bandwagon track that was good 2.5 yrs ago. Again, 2nd night more anjuna...but heavy as well, good mixture, see them at Moon in LV or a real intimate club...that is where you get their A&B tracks/oceanlab more...:gsmile:

I'm not the biggest trance fan in the world but must admit that A&B have a very energetic crowd.

They were even receptive to my flyers at the end of the night :)

decided to go to this last minute even though i'm not a big fan of above and beyond..

definitely enjoyed this set over tatw 350, and their set at sutra last september.

i left at around 2:40 but it was pretty good!

One of the best songs of the night by far, Norin & Rad vs. Recurve "The Gift" (Original mix)...my head almost hit the ceiling when it came on, and the Palladium is a very tall venue! :D

I was there on saturday night. It was awesome! One of the best shows I have been to.

I was wondering if someone can help me with this... Who was the DJ that was playing from around 9pm - 1030pm? Also anyone know some of the tracks he was playing? I'm more of a pure trance and vocal trance fan, but the stuff he was playing was just awesome and would like to really get more into the stuff he was playing. Would greatly appreciate the help.

Kazell played from 9pm-10:30pm on Saturday.

Well, after trying to buy tix for Friday the minute they went on sale and having the earlybird ones rejected from my cart, I decided to try again for the second Saturday show and that was no problem. I'm really happy to see that Above & Beyond, a group that I've followed for something like 7 or 8 years, get a following like this. The only downside was that most of my friends went on Friday, but I still had a great time on Saturday...just wish that somehow we could have all been together, but guess EDC will solve that problem! :)

Was upstairs getting drinks while Kazell was on, the music just wasn't doing it for me. Then, all of a sudden there was a hurricane force change in the music and I knew Jaytech was on the decks without even seeing him! So many incredible tracks throughout the night with stunning visuals, but the dance floor seemed a little too bright until late into the night...kind of like when you go to the movies and the lights are half up during the commercials. Some of my friends also complained about the sound being too loud or distorted, but I had Hearos earplugs in the whole night and experienced no ringing of the ears whatsoever!

A&B came back for an encore after playing their last track. They put "Miracle" on and left the stage. Was somewhat eerie listening to the vocals:

"Are you hoping for a miracle, as the ice caps melt away? No use hoping for a miracle, there’s a price we’ll have to pay."

The place suddenly felt empty, even though 4,000 people were around me. Was it right to be there in this room where kWh by the megatons were being consumed, plastic bottles and cups everywhere, jet fuel expended over many thousands of miles so that we can have a great party together, what is the true cost of a night out in Hollywood? There are no easy answers, we must all do the best we can by recycling, reducing consumption, taking fewer long flights but staying longer when we go, etc. That we have such tremendous power within us to change the world for the better brought me back to reality as Paavo & Tony came back to greet Mat Zo on stage.

Mat killed it, so many great tracks, his remix of K&A "Be There 4 U" really went off! A few minutes after 4am, he faded out a track in the middle (at the request of higher authorities, I'm sure) and the lights came up.

Life IS made of small moments like this, thanks to Above & Beyond for bringing us some much needed Group Therapy! :D
