A couple of days ago, I finished the second version of my very first project. It's a remix of a cover of a Danish classic from the 80's, and I made it for ca remix contest (Got a top 10 placement). I know you guys wont understand the lyrics, but just try to ignore that and concentrate on the music.
The vocals are the only thing I reused from the original.
It took my a very long time to make this, because it's the first thing I've ever completed, so I had a lot to learn (Still do, lol). So I would appreciate it if you guys would give me some feedback on what I should work on first. I'm not unrealistic and this being the first thing I've created, I'm guessing that there is a lot of things that could be improved, I just need someone to point me in the right direction :)
Thanks!

It sucks when your thread gets ignored and falls off the front page doesn't it :(
I think a great tip for beginner producers is to find a track you like, and try and recreate it as accurately as you can. Spoiler: You won't get anywhere close. But the point of the exercise is to really make you dissect the music. You'll pick up on things that have never entered your consciousness before ("I like how they tweaked the bassline there just before the drop", "These FX are cool", "His kick has got a lot more beef than mine", "I like the filter on the lead").
As far as your track goes specifically, it's a good start. The problem with it is it sounds a bit hollow. As far as I can tell, there are only a few elements to it: The kick, some faint hats/misc percs, a relatively simple bassline, and the arp. It needs a few more layers to keep it interesting, I would say.
DONT give up!
Alex
EDIT: Also, while your honesty is honourable, in the future, you may not want to advertise your "noob" status so much! People will avoid clicking on your thread, so by doing that, you're asking to be ignored.

Thanks a lot for your feedback :) I'll keep on working on improving and learning.
I cant master at all, so that might also be some of the reason that it sounds hollow. But I'll try to put in more elements to keep the listener interested :)
And I'll be sure not to advertise that much about my status next time I post something... :p
