yes, I know it'll never happen here. But it's still a nice thought :tongue2

This city is amazing... my favorite place in the world thus far

Romania has some of the best outdoor events imo, they are truly incredible. Excellent music, scene and some of prettiest women on the globe.
Now this is what I call a beach party,

Too bad there were no big ones when I was there. Although the small one I went to was still cool.

Scheisse!
That looks amazing. :eyes:

Never anything outdoors, eh?
Crap video (try to ignore the track here), but there were something like 10,000 people at the height of this (mobile) outdoor party...
(wish I still had the good video from it, oh well)

Also, Cherry Beach? And a whole ton of illegal outdoor raves all summer?

LOL! I love the idea! But a couple thousand hipster teenagers dancing to deadmau5 one time at dundas square isn't the same thing. For me anyways lol how long did that even last for? 30 mins?
I look forward all year for the two Platform Cherry Beach parties, closeest thing we have here to a proper openair imo, and they do an absolutely fantastic job.
In terms of the illegal outdoor raves though, I haven't been to a decent one here in years and years. All the ones nowadays seem to end up being a few hundred people, in a most random location ever, with poor sound, and the threat of it being shut down any second. It doesn't compare to 10K people popping up at a downtown park - guerrilla styles - during the day with a funktion one system and going all out till nobodys left standing.......without having to worry about being shut down.
Not trying to bash Toronto or anything, but its apples and oranges.
Yay for CB on monday! :tongue2

The past year something like 4 or 5 hours, but in previous years more like 6-8 hours. And that was pretty much the one electro house track.
Oh, and also forgot about the Freedom Festival, which in the past has had an electronic stage all day, though this year just had some house DJs on the main stage (and so thats 30-50,000 people total, fewer in the stage area obviously).
Also forgot about all the outdoor stages on Church St. around Pride Week always attracting a massive crowd.
Yeah, yeah, I know Berlin is better for this kinda stuff. But still, these types of events aren't exactly unheard of here either.

Thats actually pretty cool. I had no idea we have a yearly electro rave at Dundas square. Not my forte but still, no idea.
Yeah the pride stages and freedom festival are cool and similar in concept I guess, but I've never really considered them proper openairs. Same thing with the "beach club" type setups.
An openair is something that isn't planned months ahead of time, at a function put on with city approval or at any type of "venue" that has it's own sound and staging or whatever. It's guerilla-esque in nature. Just show up without telling anyone, bring in a load of speakers, sms all your friends, and let it grow organically. If that makes sense lol

Its not an "electro rave at Dundas square". ;)
Its mobile - there's a truck with DJs + sound system that drives around and people follow, which isn't organized with approval from the city. And it started off being more hardcore and hard dance stuff, but in the past year has moved to slightly more mainstream fare, but still with a mix of EDM genres. Similar idea to the parade in Berlin, basically.

That's great, definitely a step in right direction for sure. Still can't believe I've never heard of it before, maybe I'm outta that loop? Let's see them try it during the day next time :P
