Hello all,

This is my first completed track in over 12 months. Just don't have the time these days. Nice to get something finished though :)

Any feedback, good and bad welcome so long as its honest.

I would tell you what genre it is but I have no idea myself

Thanks for listening...

Greg

Beezlebub's Reception by Greg Nicot

I skipped around. Mix and dynamics sound nice and clear. There are no memorable rhythms or lines.

I like this Mr. Nicot. Mix is absolutely pristine and the rhythm section works to create a bit of a contemplative groove. Very movie sound-track sort of stuff. Quite original.

Once again, always a pleasure listening to your work.

Its been a while mate. Hope you are well (your back etc) Nice work as always. Keep it up dude. Hope to hear more.

I'd say its a form of breaks....
Alpha219
I like the spacey quiet parts.
How did you make the sounds that come in at :16 and :31?
Also at 2:54?
G-Con
Thanks for the replies chaps, really appreciate it.

Eddie (or Mr Zilker?) thanks for your comments and it's nice to know you enjoy some of the different tracks I have done.

Music2dance2, I'm good thanks, back is much better than it was, thanks for asking. Just don't get half as much time these days to produce and that along with a stream of tunes that I can't finish means my output is 1 tune a year at best. I'll check your tune out when I get chance to hear it properly on at home.

Alpha219, thanks for your comments. The sound that comes in at 16 and 31 is basically achieved by using lots of delay and reverb. And also reversing audio and applying more delay.

Try experimenting with the following: Take a short stab or pluck or whatever you like. Add delay with high feedback and reverb with a long tail (time). Now play that pluck/stab/sample and record the output, making sure to record the long tail of the delay and reverb. Take the recorded audio file and reverse it. Now play that and try adding delay, maybe more reverb. Keep experimenting!

The sound at 2:54 is the sound of the whispering sample that plays just before it having the feedback of the delay increased, plus distoring automation, filter cutoff automation and might have been another effect in there as well.

It's difficult for me to get too specific as I often record parts, apply FX, record that, rinse, repeat. So after a while I can't remember what the source sound was or exactly what steps I took to get to the final result (though to keep things in key melodically, I'll usually start with a synth playing a chord or something).

Hope this is of some use and sorry for rambling on a bit. I'll be sure to give feedback on your tune when I can hear it at home properly.

Thanks
Alpha219
OK. I got ya. That delay, feedback, reverse, rinse and repeat is some cool stuff! Nothing "factory patch" about it!

It sounds fine the way it is, but the rhythms just seem to move it along without taking time to groove a little. I think that could be a little better concerted. Mixdown is great though.

It's apparant that a ton of sweat n skill went into this. It has a good weight of intgegrity and feeling. Very nice indeed, nothing bad to report!

A reckon a film maker would use this. I'm picturing late night lone girl walking in underground in contemplative mood.

Evolve140, thanks for the feedback. I take on board what you mean about the groove. The groove it has is kind of what I was aiming for but I do see where you are coming from.

Richard, thanks for the comments. And nice visual idea of the image and mood the tune gives. Maybe an idea for the artwork! :D

Good mastering job AR. Nice track as I said. Hey, I bought 2 tracks this week, both with a Devil theme - what it is with the underworld just now?
