Hey guys just made my 5th track, i started producing about less then 5 months ago. I use Ableton and i just started learning how to master using Isotope Ozone 4.. ive done what i know so far as far as mastering goes with ozone. Please let me know what you think, make sure to turn it up the bassline is pretty pumping!
It's not bad, I don't think most people 5 months in will have this decent of a mixdown. The mastering is a little too crunchy for me. I think the bottom end isn't competing with the high end, which seems to dominate the track, especially that open hat. Some groovy elements but it needs a little variation and perhaps a couple other groovy moments.

Thanks for the feedback! yea i totally agree with you. My friend mentioned the same thing... i actually have someone else taking a jab at mastering the track. As for the groovy moments i was thinking the same thing, i will definetely keep this in mind for my next track.

yes indeed not bad, if you say you only produce for 5 months.
as far as the mixing goes, evolve140 is correct on all counts. May i add that it sounds a bit "static", right in your face, think of a music track as a 3D box, and allocate elements accordingly. Be creative with panning, reverb, use sidechain compression as effect. Not familiar with the genre, but sounds about 5 months worth of cooking. You got potential mate, keep writing.

Thanks for the feedback and words of wisdom... you put it in a good way, i"ll keep that in mind for the next track. I will also put up the newer mastered track when i get it back just to compare the two.
