Not that I'm an expert on making the stuff, but this track doesn't seem to have that dub step feel...at least in terms of 2-step.
Could use an intro + good drop and some more oomph/clarity to the wobble.
Pretty cool otherwise. liked 1:19 on and the floor was good and the vocals well placed.

Thanks for checking. Turned into this. Didn't expect to get any ideas like I did, a vocal sample fit really well to give it a way more atmospheric vibe. More of a complete mixdown. :D Need to break some of it down though and give it a bit of variation in the second half at least. Maybe some FX in the breakdown.
I'm not 100% convinced on the vocal sample at certain points but overall the track rocks.
I'm not sure if it falls into the dubstep genre either (not that i'm an expert) but the track stands up on it's own.
Likey.

I like both ideas. I wanted the first one to be a little more finessed to fit the vocals, rhythmically, where-as it sounds like you just established a music bed for the vox to "rest" on top of. Still, solid ideas and good overall execution when you consider you're producing in the stereotypical dubstep conventions.
The second, if anything, proves your ability at remixing; something you seem to be developing a track-record with as you get downright mercurial with how individual tracks are built and structured whilst simultaneously keeping the innate identifying signature of particular tracks, intact.
Agree with tehlord. 100% solid ideas. Again, wanting these to develop some more.
On a side note: I hope you're keeping separate versions of these tracks and not just evolving the same source-file(s). Any one of the WIPs you've posted could be worked into a complete tune when you find that balance of patience and interest enough to do so. Until then, however, I'm not exactly minding listening to a bunch of partly finished WIPs coming out as how one mix evolves (no pun intended) into the next keeps listening to them interesting.

Thanks for checking guys, always appreciated. I have fresh ears today, gonna have a coffee and get back in there. Maybe I can notice what you mean about the vocal sample, but at the time I thought it held things together a bit. Eddie, glad you guys like it. :) And after any changes, I save the file while adding a digit (pretty frequently), so I have incremental files of every single project :) That's why some of my project names are Track1501581571501 on my SoundCloud, each digit is an increment. TBH I like the newer work a lot better than the old track, but they both work well enough to be finished on there on. For now, I am going to focus on the second one as I like it more. :D Thx again!

Sweet, definitely like the "breakbeatish - wip" more. The intro/drop definitely has a huge impact on the introduction of the bass.
Drop at 2:09 was a little weird in terms of timing.
I bet if you laced the mos def vocals over this track, it'd be ok in terms of balance.

OK, gonna take a break for now but got a bit done I believe. stripped back some of the vocals. the key was weird.. Will check out how the m.d. vocals sound later :D don't really know if i fixed the timing thing, but always willing to step back and look at it. thx for checking it
edit: am going to intro it.. hmm.. need to make it hit harder after the 2nd drop. thoughts?
edit: update. going more towards actual wobbles this time, trying to get the drop right. not too familiar with creating this type of stuff so CC welcome :D
OK, -now- it's finished. Just gonna send it to mastering. :) Probably will have one more concerted listen before I send it off though, so any feedback would be good too. Cheeeers
