Thought you guys might get some use out of this

Cool, saved it to my HD for a quick reference.

It's interesting, though, that it recommends either cutting or boosting at 300 Hz for vocals, since that's a pretty notorious muddy area for vocals and I don't think I've ever found a need to boost anything there. I pretty much always find myself having to cut a notch around 400-500 Hz to get rid of some of the muddiness with female vox, and there can be a buildup of muddy frequencies a little lower than that on male vox.

notice how 2-5kHz is a no go for any sound. IE the smiling curve as ive been talking about before. this is because thats where the human ear is so ing sensitive anything would sound like . ;)

Yeah that's definitely a mistake in the wording. They simply mean "cut, reduced".

By the way, this is talking about acoustic instruments, nothing to do with dance music kicks, for instance.
