Favourizing a certain effect over another isn't the way to go. Layering effects is the way to go.

think im gonna get rid of that - waaay too heavy on CPU, any track i use it in takes a ing aeon to render

good one.

a replica of the original sound, only later, less gain, repeated. i like it. must depend on the source though, but again, all efex might.

i completely agree, though i tend to favour certain effects when i'm thinking 'hmm, what should i slap on this' in its infancy, as right or wrong as that may be

I agree, but the sound is awesome and I usually don't render at the highest settings because TBH I can't hear much/any difference from the moderate settings anyway. Have you tried Breeze? It's essentially a lite version of Aether with a much cleaner interface. I actually should restate my favorites as being both. I use Breeze for my WIPs and during tracking (for the vocal foldback) because it's MUCH lighter on the CPU, but then I'll replace it with Aether at mixdown,....then I make some coffee and wait, and wait, and wait.....for the render to finish. ;)

no havent tried Breeze...made the fatal mistake of demo-ing the Lexicon 224 so i was thinking of selling Aether to fund that, altho i could probably do without either...oh the GAS :(

Valhalla FreqEcho is awesome, good recommendation

oh my.. the fl parametric eq 2 i guess.. i use it on everything. the only thing i don't like about it is that the horizontal view is locked. 20-5000 hz take up 85% of the view, leaving only a tiny bit for 5-20khz, and that can make it hard getting rid of annoying noise. still gets most of the jobs done, so thumbs up from me on that one.

the parametric eq might be my favourite, but i do love them all equally really.
