Dark rum recipes

So a friend came to stay with me recently. Strangely, his thank you present was this:
I thought it a bit of a weird choice considering that he doesn't know what I like to drink, and that vodka goes with pretty much everything and is liked by everyone.
I've never been much of a rum drinker, but I'll be damned if I let alcohol lie around my abode without being consumed. Hit me with some good recipes, whether complex cocktails or something as simple as rum and coke. |

| I don't drink it that often, but it's a nice refreshing alternative from vodka every once in a while. Can't handle too many sweet tasting drinks in a row. I do Captain + diet Coke + a lime slice. That's as fancy as I get. |

| in the winter its great with pressed apple juice, cinnamon and chives, heated on the stove. also just pressed apple juice and 1/2 spiced rum and 1/2 zubrowka vodka = delicious |
