so, my computer died a year ago. and i finally managed to get enough money to buy a new pc a month ago. but since then i have a problem with the mouse.
every 10 minutes or so there is a 'pop' from my speakers, like the sort of 'pop' that you may hear when you put the needle on a record, or maybe when you switch an amplifier on. if i happen to be moving my mouse when this happens, i will stop working, but works again when i unplug and replug it back in. if im not moving the mouse when it pops, its fine.
the only thing different about my setup is the tower, im using win7 ultimate as previously, my speakers are creative 5.1's that ive had for a long time now. i have tried plugging my mouse into a different USB socket, tried installing up to date drivers for my mouse. but still the same problem.
any ideas? |

I get that "pop" sound sometimes too, but it doesn't stop anything from working. I'm pretty sure it's caused by ty old electrical wiring in my house, seeing as it often happens when my fiancee switches on the kettle or something.
Your problem could be from ty wiring in your computer maybe? |

you have a bad ground in your mouse,
throw it away immediately.
also, i would check the house panel, to make sure proper grounds and wiring are serviceable and good.
and then,
you need to buy a windmill!
not just any windmill but a hevy-duty wind-generator. . .
ok, maybe not the windmill, but ...
:disbelief
edit; also check your comps power supply, most commercial seller/manufacturers have poop power supplies and cord. |

| narrow down the cause. take your PC to a friend's place and see if you can replicate the issue. if not, then it's unlikely to be your PC. |

I'd make it a bit easier and take the mouse first.
If the mouse does it at the mates house, chuck it.
If it doesn't I'm gonna guess it's the motherboard. What PC is it? Make and model will be good to start with. |
