Episode 011 of our podcast comes to us via live recording from the Culprit/Los Angeles leg of the Soul Clap & Wolf + Lamb DJ-Kicks tour. This was one of the only gigs in the tour that featured opening DJs, and we were ecstatic to be a part of it.
If you're unfamiliar, The Culprit Sessions at The Standard's rooftop pool has become a summer institution here in Los Angeles. Now in it's 5th season, Culprit shows no signs of slowing down. This was arguably one of the busier parties and definitely one of the most fun we've ever been to. Bas and Justin opened things up before the New York and Boston crews took over for the remainder of the day. Big thanks to Culprit and Droog for letting us record and host this. Hopefully we can snag some more over the course of the season.
Kindly forgive some of the vinyl pops and skips, particularly the horrible one right before Gwen, the wind was not cooperating as nicely as I had hoped and started to blow some things around.

bas
It was gonna be a lot better but Zev was talking to me and distracting me :o
Also, for some reason this whole set is pitched down like -4 or something...very weird, I think it's a Traktor bug :wtf:

Listened to the first 20 mins or so on my way to work and quite enjoyed it. Fun stuff.
It sort of sounded like you raided a sale of used disco vinyls from 1986 or something. I've got no idea where on earth do you find this stuff. Or perhaps it's all contemporary hipster sampling old records, I have no idea, haven't been keeping up with the scene at all.

Some of it is old, some of it is new. I'm a crate digger, what can I say :p

Nice mix man- not the type stuff I've listened to for a while, but I was into this stuff 4-5 years ago, so good to come back to it! didn't know many of the tunes, which is always a plus..
Cheers :)

great sets! about halfway thru i did realize it was running pretty slow but ah well, it worked lol
nefardec
are you going to fix the pitch shift and repost? i'd check your set out but it's un-listenable that slow IMO
bas
I was trying to pitch it up all weekend but don't think I got it to work, I'm gonna try a different application when I get home.

Still listen to your mixes now and then. Do you know which the first track Justin played?
