That event is taking place in another section of the venue. LMD will be hosting 2 rooms elsewhere in the club. |

| The Belasco is a very nice-looking venue. It has the opera-house feel of Avalon. Wasn't able to make it out to this event, but I wouldn't mind going back in the future. |

Was on guestlist... but the door girl kept saying it was $10. Never experienced this before at an LMD event. Someone please tell the ugly girl at the door please. All the postings on fb/flyer were for 5 all night on guest list... so what the heck? I just hate being screwed that way. Also what the heck is the $20 drink minimum if paying by credit card... that just illegal and wrong!
NTS did a legit all TRANCE set (really something amazing and out of the ordinary., and some guy doing Tai Chi on the dance floor stretching made me laugh all night so still worth it. Nice venue, but bad greedy ass club owner/promoter vibe. If this happens again I'm definitely sticking to Giant/Circus for events from now on. At least parking was good... |

| I think there was another guest list that was $5 only until 11pm and then went to $10. I would have tried to show them the flyer on my phone. |

Actually, I don't think this is illegal. The trickery part is that it's more a contract violation, as Visa and MC have both said all agreements with them do not allow minimum limits. That said, this business practice is becoming more and more common. Even major companies (like taxi companies) do it. Because it's not like we anything is going to be done if we find who is processing the cards for that business (because it's prob not Visa or MC directly)
The easy work around for any place and I don't understand why they don't do it more...is just charge a 50cent- $1 fee for every CC/Debit transaction if it's under $20 or something. Then we cover the cost. ANd if we don't like it, we make sure to have cash on us. Some places do this, but few and far between. |
