hey guys,

can anyone recommend a good filter plugin? I layered two synths playing the same part in a song im working on and wanted to filter the group channel they're bussed too. I have the waves oneknob filter which is cool for some things but i want something that has a little more flexiblity and features such as being able to change the the slope, i.e. 6db per octave, 12db, etc. resonance control too.

cheers,
AirPole
I don't know what kind of DAW you are using, but I use Logic and lately haven't used the built-in filter plugin. Instead I just slam an EQ on the channel, and automate it myself. It sounds really nice.

Other than that, Sonalksis' TBK filter is a great filter I suppose.

No independant resonance.

Just use one of your synths as an effect.

I think he was looking more for a non-auto filter plugin

Maybe, but every one of the filters mentioned in that thread is widely used as a standard filter.

Also, check out Fabfilter Simplon. Much better sounding and more versatile than TBK imo.

I think fab filter simplon is the way to go, gonna download the demo from their site and give it a shot.

Hey guys,

thanks for all the advice. I just stumbled upon sugarbytes WOW filter plugin, I checked out some vids, looks impressive and easy to use with some really cool features.
Anyone here used it? Would like to hear some feedback from users. I also checked out some of their other plugs, their vocoder robotronic seems cool too.

cheers,

forgot to ask the volcano users a question earlier, can two filters such as a low and high pass filter be "linked" together so you may move them up and down the spectrum respectively using one knob/controller?

cheers,
Morvan
