I understand most people here prefer old school trance BUT I have come across a few tracks this year that I really like, if you don't like them, at least tell me why:
Orjan Nilsen- Between the Rays
Mat Zo and Arty- Rebound
Anhken- Always look Back
rdevito
Orjan Nilsen - Between the Rays: the only good thing here is breakdown;
Mat Zo and Arty - Rebound: fart basses dominate progressive trance, so boring;
Anhken - Always look Back: not that bad, but has that generic feeling;
I'll admit that I'm not the regular TA user in the sense that I actually really enjoy modern trance, but I'll throw my opinion out there anyways.
Rebound - This track is probably my favourite of the moment, along with Ashley Wallbridge's "Jynx" which is soon to be released. Arty and Mat Zo are easily two of my favourite producers in the genre today and it's no surprise that their first collab is such a great track. You can really tell what parts each of them contributed and I think they make a great team.
Between the Rays - I love Orjan, but this track doesn't sound like anything special to me. The last release I really enjoyed from him was probably Lover's Lane. Still pretty excited to hear his upcoming artist album though
Always Look Back - It's honestly tracks like this that give me hope for the future of trance. I mean I'm not delusional... I know there is a TON of garbage being produced in the scene right not.. but when I listen to weak-to-mediocre tracks for a couple hours and then stumble upon a track like this... it all seems worth it.
Very interesting that you chose 3 tracks from Armin's State of Trance 2011 compilation though. I think the mix as a whole is pretty terrible... even compared to last year's mix, which wasn't amazing either.

That would be incorrect. In fact, tranceaddict.com isn't just about one genre, anymore. Since its inception, tranceaddict has always been about music on the cutting edge, taking into consideration not just trance but the increasing diversity in fresh electronic music evolving well outside trance's stereotypical mainstream. Why, there's epic trance, progressive trance, acid trance, house-trance and trance house, minimal trance, intelligent trance, tech trance, deep trance, mushroom trance, hard trance, break trance, trancy breaks, Top 40 trance, adult contemporary easy listening trance, classical music which highly resembles trance's unique style and song structure, and Embers Breaks.
So prepare to be awed at the ever widening diversity of trance on offer at tranceaddict.com. Just as there's more to life than just trance, there's more here than just trance, too.

Thanks for your feedback :) I totally agree that Rebound is a great song, probably my favorite song right now also. I understand some people here have more of a purist attitude when it comes to trance but I have been listening to trance for over 15 years and I still like some of the new stuff.
I did not listen to trance for the last 2 years, so I am trying to catch up slowly. What do you guys think of W&W? I love almost all their tracks, if you think their stuff is cheesy, uncreative or crap, please let me know. I am still trying to find some good trance.
I hate vocal, cheesy, crappy trance like a lot of these tracks Armin played a couple weeks ago, but it seems like there may be a few gems out there.

They were doing ok in the very beginning of their carriers, but now they are car alarm spammers as almost every single Dutch Trance producer (only Juventa is making some good productions).

You are entitled to your opinion but I think you can find some good Dutch trance out there. Mark Otten- Libertine is a great song, I also like some of the stuff by Rex Mundi especially his remix of Probspot-Blueberry, badass track! W&W- D.N.A is a beautiful track, I also like W&W vs Ben Gold- Nexgen :)

I'm the same way. I haven't been listening to trance for nearly as long (I'm only 21) but I am able to appreciate the classics and plenty of pre-2000 trance tunes, as well as the newer stuff. As for W&W badass is the exact word I would use to describe their sound. They're nowhere near my favourite producers... but I enjoy most of their tracks.
A producer I've recently become a huge fan of is Alex O'Rion. I picked up his album the other day and it's easily one of my favourite artist albums in years. Check out this preview, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
I hope I got the embedding right...

Love this track :), I had never even heard of him, I have to disagree with the guy that said that there is not a lot of good Dutch trance being produced, it seems like everyday, there is a new Dutch DJ/Producer making some pretty decent stuff :)
I hope I don't get crap for this but Marcel Woods- Inside Me is one of the few songs by a Dutch producer that I have been listening for the last 2 years, and still haven't got tired of it :) I usually don't like trance with vocals BUT Inside me is easily on my top 50 trance tracks of all times.

Great choice Lukeache, MW - Inside Me is an amazing song, Im not a huge fan of male vocals usually but that one goes on repeat. Kyau & Albert - Hide & Seek is another Male vocal song thats really good.
I also disagree that there is No good Dutch Trance at the moment, Ummet Ozcan for one is producing some amazing tracks, his track Reboot is quality Trance!! It has the essential, very slightly cheesy lead sound but its not overused, one verse maybe, but when it kicks back the track evolves so well.
What do You guys think of these 2 tunes out just recently:
