I really like Arty but I feel he is starting to get that "songs sounding too similar" thing all too soon. Or may be I just listen to too much music :p Is it really too much to ask to have every track by an artist sound unique?

while i do agree with you in the case of a lot of artists, i dont think arty's tracks are all-too-similar. he has a few sounds he recycles, surely, but he's got some awesome experimental stuff as well.

for instance:

arty's one of the few artists i really look forward to hearing new releases from simply because although he does have a 'sound', it's not a set one and his tracks always have high replayability/entertainment value. besides, i actually prefer an artist who's songs have some signature elements (while some do really overdo it).

I see what you are saying, but I have this problem where if I can recognize something that's been recycled and it hasn't been done in a completely unique way I can't bear to listen to it even if the track itself is "good" I just always think of the first track that I heard with that same beat unless the new track is better and it bothers me. It's not just with melodies with, its also with VST's too *sigh* :tongue2

p.s. I never liked watching re-runs on TV as a child either haha, and I can't watch the same movie twice. I fall asleep. Yea, I'm weird ;)

That's why each one of my tracks sounds different but still have the unique element that resembles who I am as an artist. Whether it be the unique way of arranging your tracks, or one significant element that lets everyone know that's you when they hear it.

Some artists just overdo it. I definitely want to prevent overusing the same elements over and over. But then again, that's why most artists dish out alot of tracks within a certain amount of time.
