It's a cold, cloudy day in Bosnia & Herzegovina, a smooth ray of sun light makes its way through Slavisha's Studio. "She Asked Me How I Rock" just came out from his brain, and his alias "Fabriano," made the final brushes on this majestic tune.
There are specific producers that build their sound for the dance floor, and Fabriano's interest in clubby rhythms is undeniable, with remarkable groups of samples that create the atmosphere lots of big DJs already know. A mysterious drum line starts to kick the floor with an enthusiastic groove, a deep kick drum joins the pattern, and then a swift slap to the face with a female vocal shouting "Let's Go".
A perfect harmony between drum/bass/synth will allow no body to remain seated, while synth triad chords rock the background, a single-note bass line will rock your head.
There's no perfect track without perfect remixes, and in this release Fabriano gathers the most recognized talent to his original idea. Our first producer is from Guatemala, Carl Nunes, who recently gave us an amazing set in our beach party LIFEst w/Dash Berlin, Tom Colontonio and Randy Boyer, to mention a few. A challenging remix that maintains the progressive soul of the original, but uses some minimal, disoriented effect samples over a bed of accentuated pads and a short release. The shouting girl meets a robotic module during the breakdown and starts a mono melodic synth that becomes the special subject of the remix.
Spain is the land of house and progressive masters, and Jon Medina has the unique talent to preserve some original fragments and twist them into a beautiful progressive house piece. In his mix, the main melody dances around percussive basses and straight drums, with a long decay reverb on the vocal, giving the sensation of space, but with a clubby feeling. There's no doubt of his impressive talent in this remix.
Serbia is the house of our next prominent remixer/producer who stylishly provided to his remix this shiny sound to make this EP perfect. Cavin Viviano with a quickly growing sound repertoire, made his first work with Istmo Music using a spontaneous drum that certainly holds the power to compete in club dance-floor warfare. Parallel synth patterns and an abundant bass melody vary along with the main synth riff to become a memorable tune of electronic festivals.
Tons of variations and colors in this EP that it cannot stay hidden for long, Fabriano and his master piece "She Asked Me How I Rock" demonstrates the capacity of his ideas to rock the world.
