Plastikman Review

Post them up here, sad that it was only 1.5 hours long, cause the sound was turned down for wormhole and half the people left, plus there was no light show.

But damn, plastikman delivered, it really felt like I was at a concert not a club, top notch organization and definately worth the 50$ i spent(even though scalpers were sellng tix for 40$ at the door??wtf?)

He really connected with the crowd and the whole curtain setup was really sick.

9/10 for sure. Musicaly 8.5/10

Great show! I expected crazy visuals, prob caused by amon tobin. The bar was high! Music was excellent.

Music 9.5/10 / Visual 8/10

The closing was amazing!

To be honest I was quite bored... big LED screen with stuck pixels running visualizations that would take an average mathematician / programmer an evening to code... I was hoping for the usual plastikman theme of pushing things forward.

His live act was wayyyyy better than the one in 2004.

Visual set-up was nice, I had a really good time.

The thing with Plastikman is, it was never really good music, or very elaborate sound engineering. There's a lot of more impressive producers out there... it's basically the same few sounds, same hi hats, very simple, and his trick is pretty much creative sequencing.

He just has the money now to have in your face visuals, and that helps the show a lot.

Is oldschool acid sounds and signature percs are still a joy to hear.

Too bad they didn't have any visuals for Traversable Wormhole... after such powerful eye candy, he wasn't in a good position to deliver. Kind of felt bad for him.

All around I really enjoyed Plastikman - I got into techno/minimal/partying in general a little late so hearing that stuff played live was a first for me even though it was the music that initially attracted me to techno.

The visuals were great, the sound was good and some of the tracks were nuts. The place was a little too crowded so it was hard to dance and move, but whatever.

I was really looking forward to Traversable wormhole, but after the sensory over-load of Plastikman it took me a little while to get into his set, and just as I was starting to find my groove again it shut down for the night.

That said, after going to a bunch of other events at Mutek, musically - there were acts I liked quite a bit better. Then in terms of light-shows - the setup at SAT was killer and used to great effect, and loved what they were doing during the Chancha Via Circuito show.
