I'm still learning how to produce an over all decent track, all inclusive of what makes a decent track (aren't we all), and I cant seem to decide if im satisfied with the mixdown. My productions have gotten a lot better but I would love some feedback on my most recent.

Any feedback is appreciated. Not mastered so turn up your volume! Thanks.

P.S I just realized the white noise leading into the drop is much to quite.

For me: the kick isnt prominent enough, its sort of buried in there, should stand out a bit more
the bass is very heavy, id say its robbing most of your headroom - i would trade some of that sub for some more sub on the kick if that makes sense...but maybe thats the approach you are going for

also your mix level is way way quiet, should never really be that low even before "mastering" - whats your master channel peaking at?

Sitting right below 0 when all the tracks are playing. The kick was to loud last time and I seemed to mix it to far down this time around, thanks for pointing it out. The kick actually covers a very wide range of frequencies, from low/sub bass to low mid with a nice treble click, but my bass line does drown out some of that in the kick.

Really? I'm finding that hard to believe.

While all the sounds are playing, it sits right under 0db. Here is an updated version, I brought up a few sounds. Do you guys think this sounds any better? The kick is more present through out the track. Also, its generally mixed a bit louder.

Because perceived volume has little to do with the actual peak level. Its all about EQ and RMS.

if its just sitting under 0db then imo there is something wrong in the mix...and id say its too much sub and not enough of the kick

Kick still needs to come up and im not sure even then if its gonna sound right, not mad on that particular kick
Also the snare gets drowned out a bit when the noise comes in - I can barely hear it...i think it could do with a volume boost as well

Basically the mix between the bass, pad sound and that twinkly lead is sitting pretty good - its the rest you have to work on

all imo of course!

Thanks very much good sir. there is quite a lot of sub bass muddying up the bass and kick together. Also, evo8, I took your suggestion (i think it was yours) and I layered another synth to the bassline, it takes up a lot more of the low - mid range now, making it more apparent, but i still need to cut some of that sub off the other bass synth. It seemed to work a lot well, i got a sound out of it i really like, so thanks!

First of, I recommend you use FLAC to compress your WAV file before uploading it to SoundCloud. Unlike MP3, you won't lose any quality and people on limited bandwidth can still download your track. That said, I still get cut off during off-peak hours (not your fault, just New Zealand ISPs), so I'll download it in a couple of hours and give my feedback. Hope you haven't clipped or compressed your master...
