Ableton Certified Trainer

Hey guys,
what are your thoughts on becoming certified? Is it worth it, maybe even just to have? Ideally I would apply it towards classes, teaching people, maybe even working for Ableton some day.

My eyes passed over this and I thought it said "Abortion Certified Trainer". I think it's time to stop using the internet for a while :/

How much is it?

Sounds like a neat idea. I wish more colleges around here would teach Ableton, but everyone teach Logic or Cubase. Grrrrr

I'm not looking for employment in that area or anything like that, but the knowledge would be fun, and maybe make some videos and stuff.

Well if it is for the knowledge and if the price aint an issue then yeah go for it. Its certainly not guna harm you knowing your daw inside out.

Then again, you might end up just paying for a certificate and not learn anything you dont know already.

I think that from a learning standpoint it may be cool to take a class... and if you get a cert - maybe even able to get some $$$ teaching. However, just for the sake of getting a piece of paper - I think your money and time can be put to better use.

This is coming from an IT guy who hasn't bothered with certs in 10 years now.

even if you did get certified how would you go about teaching? Rent out a space and get people to sign up to for your class/pay in advance?

about as useful as that 9 month engineering courses. It is pretty much a scam. I mean if you are a retard that can't learn on your own, sure , but for most people, you won't learn much, and the benefit of being certified ? well what is to say you aren't certified right now. You honestly think they will check something like that or care. It is a useless accreditation.

This is an odd money ploy. I get it, be certified as pro, and there is a market for having software capabilities. My first thought is Ableton failed to make their software easy enough to use where you need a trainer. Just guessing, but most people play with audio software as a passing experience, and the rest that are dedicated to making music will explore the software on their own, and benefit from individual discovery.

I compare it to being, say, Fender-certified. You can play a Strat like a badass, and teach someone how to play guitar. But, do you need a certificate saying you can do that? And, how does it translate to Gibson?

Save your money. Your money is probably better spent buying other software or gear to master.
