Across the street from my work. Been twice this week. It's good, don't get me wrong. But quite frankly, it's just over priced sausages. Nothing to write home about IMO.
Had the venison on Monday and wild boar yesterday. I'd say they were worthy of a 'meh' at best.
The best thing about this place is that you can get weihenstephan (sp?) on draught (if you like wheat beer)... Then again, the bier market and banknote just down the road have it too.
I also didn't like that they literally ripped off the one in Los Angeles either.
Don't waste your time or money.
My bad... Two good things. There's a server who is a is a smokin babe. |

Love the idea. Not so sure about the execution.
This city needs a proper German style beer hall, but that's a hard thing to find outside Kitchener (Schwaben is still the best one there).
The best full scale one I've found outside of Germany is Jacob Wirth & Co. in Boston.

The picture doesn't come close to doing it justice, especially the Friday night player piano driven singalongs lol.
Great German food. Top Notch beer. Killer value. In the end, something that is truly rare outside of Germany.
This is what I'd love to see in Toronto proper.
Yes, I've been to The Musket in Etobicoke & it's great, but it lacks the downtown convenience and full blown beere hall vibe of Jacob Wirth. That said, I have yet to find anything that comes close to its authenticity in Toronto.
Hmmmmmmmmmmm..... Anyone up for an old fashioned TOTA invasion? |

I go to The Musket for all the German football matches. It's German through and through. Great beer selection and the food is killer. Only problem is though, its in the most random area ever, and the clientele is basically just old expats killing time. The Dimpflmeier Bakery is right next door as well, nothing beats picking up a fresh delicious strudel for the way home when your tipsy :P
edit: completely missed the part where you mentioned it in your post *facepalm* |

Nothin good about havin to pay top dollar for some greezy sausage n beer. The reason they have a hot waitress is because people think it makes their business seem more friendly. But to be quite frank. It makes me feel insulted, since they must think im stupid to tip more than i have to on already overpriced food just because the waitress has her half out and a push bra F****** that place! Plus sausages are just lard and guts with a biodegradable plastic wrap. |

I was actually thinking the same.. why would someone want to eat that with beer, i'd only ever eat this stuff if im camping or up north with no other choice of food. |
