My gf got a pretty good deal on some second hand Event TR6 monitors from Cash Converters (the pair for AU$350). They arrived this afternoon, only for us to find that they're the US version (incorrectly advertised as the AU version), so they run on 120v power, whereas Australia uses 240v power.
A few questions for you guys:
1) Do you think it would be worth getting a step down transformer and using them? One of my concerns is that if we ever try to sell them here, potential buyers will balk at the idea of them being the US version, even if we supply the step-down transformer as part of the sale. I, personally, think I would balk at the idea if it were me buying them, but would you guys?
2) What sort of step-down transformers should we look at getting? Price range/quality/brand? It's something I know almost nothing about, unfortunately.
3) If we do get the step-down transformer, will its cost then completely negate the good deal we got on the monitors in the first place? We do have the option of returning them for a refund (not sure if we have to pay the return shipping or not, but considering it was them that ed up, I would doubt it).
Really appreciate any help on this, or even just your general thoughts :) |
