I'm not surprised. If you were in Toronto when the Jays won the World Series, you'll vividly remember the chaos, looting & rioting that happened along Yonge St. The only reason we can't imagine or see ourselves being as bad is because our Leafs haven't won jack. I'm almost positive that if we ever lost a game 7 in a finals or even won for that matter, Toronto would be in complete chaos.

Rob, I was there both years of our pennant win as well as when we won the gold medal years ago and there was such minimal trouble that it couldn't even be counted really...

Im pretty sure that Toronto would behave much better than these other holes...

The people doing this aren't hockey fans. Everytime this happens it is just a bunch of people that wan't to loot that incite the mob mentality to get what they want.

I am amazed the the cops were not prepared for this.

Even if they won, it would have happened.

Toronto fans barely know when to cheer or clap at major sporting events. I seriously doubt they would know how to get together and loot.

I am so ashamed to be from Vancouver right now. First off the hockey game was terrible then to take it out on our own city and destroy it. Disgraceful. I have been glued to the news.

Say what??

That never happened during a world series win EVER.

That happened one time when the leafs lost a playoff round.

The world series was nearly bad event free both times!

I guess VanPD could have taken the North African and Middle Eastern approach and exterminated all the rioters.

I am going to laugh if Roberto Luongo's parents home got egged last night for this major up.

I hope he doesn't show his face in this city ;) Plus I wonder who from Vancouver is getting axed.

I think Special K might be right. I might be confusing it with the riots that happened a few weeks after in relation to the Rodney King incident. That's when the city core turned into a complete mess.

Here's some classic footage of the 92 win

and this was the crazy riots just a few weeks later that same year

The city of Vancouver has no one to blame for this but themselves....what the hell do you think is going to happen when you allow that many people to watch the game in the streets of the city.

Especially when the same thing happened in 1994 when they lost in the SC finals.

When they said they thought things would be different this time in the Globe and Mail (I think I read it there), were they thinking Vancouver was going to win and that would be the difference? It sure as wasn't the fans in that city growing up. This makes Canadians look retarded just because of these fans acting like children and complete douchebags over a team. Get over yourselves, please! :whip:

And to all of those who say this would happen in Toronto if it were the Leafs, it would be rather pathetic if that were the case as well and you'd be an embarrassment to this country as well.
The Leafs will never make it that far though, so no issues there.
