REVIEW
I had been looking for a replacement for my Headliner Bags Side Sling. It's getting old and the zipper is finally giving in. Well, this bag definitely does NOT replace it. If you're a DJ that packs heavy, forget it. On the other hand, if you're like me and usually all you have to carry is your laptop, headphones, and a few spare vinyls, it's perfect! However, if you also need to carry cables, your scratch amp, and other things, you might as well stop reading.

Don't get me wrong, the NI/UDG Traktor bag is very well made. The materials are heavy duty. However, the bag falls short of becoming a true DJ bag. The lack of compartments is a huge turn off for me. If I would've spent full price, I probably would've returned it. The bag retails for $79, but I had a $60 discount voucher at NI.

The bag has two main compartments, one on the back for about 20 vinyls, and one on the front for your laptop. It also comes with a cushioned laptop sleeve. That's a plus. Right when you open the bag, the first thing you see is a pocket. This pocket fits an Audio 8 or an SL1 perfectly. However, if you use it with either one, there's no room for cables. Alternatively, you can use it to store your headphones or an external drive. Sucks you have to make a choice between your scratch amp or you headphones. How can NI have overlooked such a HUGE need for a dedicated headphone compartment? SMH

There's two side compartments, one for a bottle of water and one detachable for your cell phone. NI should've scratched those two small compartments and made them a little bigger so you can fit your headphones on one, and your external or cables on the other. SMH.

Inside the back pocket, there's two hidden zipped compartments. One is for a few CDs, and the other, probably to hide your narcotics. Hahaha

On the outside of the back side, there's a handy strap for putting your bag on the handles of your luggage.

Overall, the lack of a headphone compartment, and the lack of additional compartments for cables and other small gear turn me off. This is strictly a vinyls and laptop bag. But that's about it. It's very well made, there's leather and cushions on the right places, but it's not all there. If I was to do it again, I would skip this bag and look into the Monocase Fader series or the Headliner bags which give you more bang for your buck.

Thats just a regular UDG courier deluxe bag with NI logos slapped on.... ive had one of these for years and they are pretty good, and very light.

To get around the lack of headphone storage (which i found to be a problem as well), get the UDG headphone bag, throw away the gay flimsy shoulder strap that comes with it and clip it into the main strap on the courier bag...problem solved: http://www.chemical-records.co.uk/s...nfo?Track=U9960
