Beautiful groove mate - for me perfect. I have ideas for this, but ermm, they would be too hard to explain I think. I'd keep it fairly simple, just a wide open break with lots of tension and cool far off sounds. Use a distinctive deal killer hi tech tom type thing - sorta stuff Joris Voorn / Michael Woods uses sometimes. Intro this sound in the intro. Done.

If you get too stuck, pass this my way, yum yum, and I'll stick something on!

Will def think about that. Just want to try it myself now still. So give me another couple of days/weeks and I know where to find you :).

I really enjoyed this, I like the minimal vibe. I know it's strange for an electro guy to like minimal but I enjoy a lot of the minimal techno stuff.

The first track that came to mind when I was listening to it was Tarantula by Pleasurekraft:

Similar dark vibe. I really feel like you could turn this one into an awesome minimal masterpiece if you threw something strange and unexpected as a hook in there. I think that's why I like Tarantula so much. The 2nd half of the track is so unexpected and weird but you can't help but to fall in love with it.

I have a computer and a MIDI controller with Audio Technica ATH-M50 headphones. I don't even have speakers aside from my iMac speakers.

Hardcore ghetto right here mang. Thankfully I've learned my headphones well enough that I feel like I can mix pretty damn well on them. :)

Bump, significant update on track. Forgot to filter some parts in the part where the highpass goes up. Will fix that later. Parts after about 0:13 are relevant. Intro needs some touch ups of course but that is of later concern to me.

For me the todo's are the following:
1. Filter some more parts in high-pass part
2. Add some tape delay to some parts in during the highpass filter and let them saturate for a few bars when the beat kicks back in.

Feedback much appreciated!

Truly wonderful bass mate, I'm jealous. On my work pc monitors (which are not too bad), the kick could come through a little more I think.

Nice track - needs more touches here n there for me - like verby tight double hits etc.

Also after break in order to up the anti a bit, I can imagine a big hitech tom type sound placing once per bar, in a nice tight well swung position.

Classy so far.

About the tension. It's so damn hard to keep it haha. That will probably be the biggest challenge on this one.

The bass is just a pure sine so not hard to do yourself ;). Done with Synth1.

Time will tell how this one will turn out...

I really like overall Housey atmosphere in this track --> just nicely balance sound with some good (genre specific) instrument selection.

One thing though, I think you could still have some more action added to this groove, by (maybe) adding/copying secondary bass channel and sidechaine it, to get this deep and moving sound - this is all about depth, vibrant groove and energy but at the same time smooth and easy going rhythmic flow. Sounds like you are on the right path my friend, very promising development.

Cheers,

Introduce some perc lines when new sections begin to keep the groove interesting. Nice work man.

Added a bit of perc on the end. Mostly played with the synth and added another minute to it. Track is halfway done now :toothless

not sure if this is even a possibility or if it'd fit your aesthetic for it, but I could image a nice, soft jazzy female vocal on it, even if it was just singing pitches...subtle, somewhat sparse, but adding a nice sonic feature.

regardless, cool
