only just found this myself so may be common knowledge to other Live users...
if you go into the Live browser to "Library\Samples\Processed" you should see subfolders for Consolidate, Crop, Freeze and Reverse
So any audio you've consolidated, cropped, froze or reversed throughout your time using Live (assuming you kept the same library) should be in these folders
Nice if you just want a little loop/piece of audio/fx for chopping up and putting in your current tracks etc... |

better tip for you, if you use live's browser and navigate to where your saved projects are you can click the arrow next to the project name and all the tracks you used (except sends) will be listed there (obviously helps if you name the tracks). You can THEN drag the individual track, say Track 5: Guitar, into your new project :) Has the entire chain, all the automation, warping etc. Thing of beaut! |

I need to learn how to do this seamlessly. Sometime I close the project, open another one, copy the track, open the old file and paste the track. Kind of a pain. Plus, I REALLY want to start saving my patches in Ableton. Like the combinator in Reason. I know there is a way but haven't delved into it. Anyone care to share how they like doing that? |

You can just drag whole clips/tracks/effect racks out into a folder and use that to store sounds/clips/some combination.
What are you confused about? To save an individual effect rack or something you click the little save icon above the device, to save a track setup you just grab the whole track and drag it. I believe you need to have it within a project folder though, so maybe create a blank project called your presets project and drop anything in there.
That's how I do it anyway... |

Yeah just group the whole chain and save it.. They will show up under instrument rack if its a vsti with fx inserted after (from midi tracks) or show in audio effects rack if its just a chain of vst's (from audio tracks or return tracks). |
