yes, you can use both hardware and software to create songs. use your external synths just like you would use a softsynth, by selecting your soundcard as the midi device for the channel. the difference is that when you record the external synth, you have to run it's inputs into your soundcard to record to your hard drive (you can't just "export audio" like you can with softsynths).
As for softsynths you need to have, check out FM7, Pro-52, Absynth, and Juno X2. |
