Las Vegas labor day weekend events (pg. 2)

i was there a few weeks ago and my friends flew back sunday evening when my brother and i drove back after going to encore beach club.
even though time wise it's about the same, it's not fun driving for 4+hrs on the 15 after a weekend at vegas. much better to fly IMO. |

But me and the lady HATE flying so roadtrip is always going to win (which sucks as our families live 7,000 miles away from where we do :whip: |

I drive all the time, just this year I have 5+ times that I can think of off the top of my head.
But now, it seems like its cheaper to fly then drive. Especially when its only a 2 people. Gas prices so freaking high, and flights soooo cheap I am almost tempted to fly to Vegas. But I haven't felt the need to do so yet.
And like how Bigperf mentioned, during BIG holidays and when Vegas is packed, the drive home to SoCal is anywhere over 7hrs and sometimes the drive there is also longer because of traffic.
EDC this weekend has sold out all the hotels in Vegas on the strip and all the ones near the Air Force base closest to the speedway. It's going to be a nightmare weekend in Vegas alright.... |

Trick is to leave after 9pm....but then you get home past midnight....you hate your life the next day. |

| last couple of holiday weekends i've gone the traffic hasn't been too bad... 5 - 5.5 hours with stops.... |

Vdara still has room available and that Aria's sister hotel right next to it. It's VERY nice too!

lol..I live here, I feel sorry for all those who have to travel here.
Especially this weekend for EDC.
DJWoody, sorry man...I gotta disagree. Vdara is not all that.
I work at the cosmo, and really, except for the Mandarin, all of city center hotels are not really even worth the price they ask for. IMO: I still think the best rooms are Venetian,Encore and theHotel [@mandalay]
I gotta admit,Deadmau5 at XS Memorial Day weekend was off the hook.
Tickets are 50.00 bucks atm, if your gonna go see em....get your tickets now,they WILL climb to 150.oo easy and soon |

If tix are only $50 right now I'd say anyone interested should jump on this. I'm not a Deadmau5 fan by any means, but during the summer XS will charge a $50 cover for a regular night, so I'd say its a deal. |

on MDW.. left Marquee around 5:30AM.. went back to hotel to shower and take a 10 minute nap..decided to screw it and drive home..took 3.5 hours.. but still had the majority of my Monday still left..
i use to leave after 9pm too..but man coming home aftermidnight was SUPER painful on Tuesday |

Oakenfold is confirmed at Perfecto@Rain on Saturday.
I'm not sure what to do here...I sent out an alert to all my friends for 8/27 wkd and they all slacked and now most of the air deals are sold out. I jumped on it, but now some seats have been released for Labor Day weekend, making me think about it. I actually wanted to avoid the holiday weekend this time, so I could do Encore beach club a bit less hectic and more affordable. Didn't even want to bother MDW. Would like to see more about who will be playing LDW... |
