really? damn consider Rank 1's production status, I thought they'd get at least attract enough audience for the full room. I've never seen Rank 1 live, what type of set does Piet usually play? Personally i prefer CL's heavier tech/psy trance but I've never seen Rank 1 so I wanted to check him out.
CL turnout was pretty good last time at the Avalon with J00F and i had a blast there. Avalon turn outs are always good so I'm not too worried. I already have Rank 1 tix, but i'm deciding whether to buy presale CL tix too.

Yes, that was a typical CL set / Avalon crowd. Capacity control in full effect but had got lucky to get in with a group. Washers in full effect. I think CL has a slightly different sound now or at least he sounded different for the first 45 minutes last week.
I am not sure how to describe Rank 1's set; not bad, not memorable.
If it was 2007, we would have seen both at the same club! :)

i really liked CL's set from EDC judging from the recorded live set cuz i missed him there. hmm decisions decisions
**edit** i gave in and bought tickets to CL. Guess i will be at both or I'll try to get rid of my Rank1 tickets outside of Circus for $10 each cuz i bought 2.

I'll be at Rank 1. I've never seen Piet live, so I don't know what to expect, but as long as he drops one or two of the classic Rank-1 anthems I'm sure I'll enjoy myself. :)
I'm stoked to head down and open up for Piet at this show. Would love to meet more SoCal TA's :)

so that was my first time seeing piet ... not a bad set, he played some great tracks, but i felt like the energy was lacking just a bit. what'd you guys think?

Pretty much feel the same way as you. Completely felt like the energy was missing from the show.
