I know if your a Logic user you can load REX2 into the ESX24 and it will add both wav and midi files.
What I'm looking for is a plug-in that can preview Rex2 files like Dr. Rex. I know there's a slim chance of there being a device that can do this but I had to ask. Anyway the reason I'm looking for a plug-in instead of rewire is I find it a hassle to set up rewire and import/export midi around. |

Thanks!. I think Stylus is what I want. Two questions though, when you audition loops will it sync with the host, and do I need to convert all my REX2 files for stylus to be able to recognize them?. |

I believe Reaper can do what you want in its media explorer. $60 and a great DAW besides. Cockos is about to release V4 with a bunch of upgrades too. |

Reaper huh?. I didn't really want to switch DAWs but the learning curve of Logic is so slow...
I just found that out NI Maschine use REX2 files |

No need to switch. Reaper would make a great compliment to Logic. Just use it as needed, rewire it, whatever you need. At the price, you can't go far wrong. I'm a Reaper fanboy, but I wish Logic was on PCs (the current Logic). I'd love to run both. |

I thought a lot of things played rex files maybe I'm wrong.

Same here, Im sure most Daws support these file types (and many others) along with a way of slicing them up the way DrRex would so you can edit each part. |

Thanks guys but I really just want a plug-in version or Dr REX and since that doesn't exist Stylus RMX seems to be the next best thing. I think I'll go pick it up today.
Maschine has me kind of intrigued as well. I see it can load both REX and WAV. Also it can cut up your WAV loops as well. It would be nice to have a plug-in that can slice quicker then starting up Recycle everytime. Now if there was only a way Logic could audition WAV loops in sync will the song is playing...
If i convert a folder of REX files, does that change the actual REX files or does it just import them into RMX?. Also can RMX slice WAV loops?
Thanks |
