Church and state def affects one another...I'm actually against it and I can't believe ny passed the bill..but of course, I'm not surprised.

It does, but it shouldn't. Whoever says that the US should make decisions based on the religious beliefs of the founding fathers failed American History for reading comprehension.

Great news. Hopefully it'll follow across the country over the next decade.

But it's pretty ignorant of some of you to claim religion has no affiliation to marriage...when in reality, marriage is almost entirely religious/cultural.

Yeah, but at the same time it's a civil rights issue. Making a distinction for a group of people is totally unconstitutional. To me it's kind of like when women couldn't vote, or when black people were property and had no rights whatsoever. Still, if religion is going to come into play, I was taught we are all God's children and he makes no distinctions, I was taught to love and not hate (which is what most religious groups are focused on: their hatred towards something they don't understand and just condemn it). Yankeebaby's quote says it best:

Religious entities have always had the right to refuse or accept to marry those they have religious grounds against marrying, however, ALL Americans are entitled to all protection_s and benefits provided by and of the state."

Marriage is def not for me, but if the gays want to be just as miserable as everyone else, they should have the right to do as they wish.

On that note, I'm considering re-evaluating how I feel about men. Given how much a pain in the ass women can be (no offense ladies  ) and the snowball effect this decision is likely to have, it just might prove easier to get some much needed tax breaks by switching teams.
:tongue2
