ok i'm having a blonde moment here... i need to uninstall my current vers of sylenth and replace w/ an updated one. I can not for the life of me find the .vst or .component file of any of my synths. My laptop (mbp) has set the plugin install directory to "main" so i'm guessing that means my entire HD.
i checked:
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/
nothing, also checked applications, nothing. I cant even find my other synths that i own (massive, albino, etc). can someone point me in the right direction here |

there are two locations for plugins.
First click on macintosh hd in a finder window. Do not click on the shortcut on the left with the little house.
So macintosh HD, subfolder Library, then same path as mentioned, you should have your plugins over there in the VST folder if they're vst, Component if they're AU.
If they're not into that folder, you might have installed them into the user library folder, which also gets scanned by your host DAW. So in that case the path is macintosh hd >users>your user folder > library > Audio > plug-ins etc etc
In most cases make always sure that you put the plug-ins into the very same folder because you'll find very annoying the fact of having to juggle with those locations. |
