With last year’s ‘We.Are/909+’ EP receiving a 10/10 single of the month review in DJ Magazine, Who.Is have set the bar high with previous efforts. Thankfully, Dutch legend Bart Claessen and his countryman Raz Nitzan have hit the trance jackpot again with the uplifting ‘Cryptanalysis’.
Journeying back to glory days of late-90s trance, their latest venture ‘Cryptanalysis’ puts a contemporary twist on a classic bubbling bass groove. With a breakdown that is made for those stadium trance mega-rushes, ‘Cryptanalysis’ unlocks a piercing melody that lights up the track like a 4am laser. Bringing the tempo right down before gradually building up the intensity and euphoria levels, ‘Cryptanalysis’ is the perfect uplifting trance journey.
Following on from releases on Markus Schulz’s Coldharbour Recordings, Gal Abutbul delivers a punchy, pacey and groove-filled rework that makes full use of the original melodies in a sweeping release.
Completing the package, the upcoming Argentinean artist Chris Schweizer adds a more electro-fused slant through his alternative rework. With innovative mutations of the original’s melodies and a unique buzzing groove, Schweizer’s remix is an impressive statement from this rising talent.
