Quite easily the most enjoyable bro-step listening experience I've ever had. If someone pointed to this as an example of this genre, I probably wouldn't have such a negative opinion of it. That said, I've got a couple of techy crits that may be more influenced by my mix-ear and preferences, so if you don't see them echoed (or if someone else disagrees), disregard them:
The highs seem a little bright, particularly with the digital-distortion in the beginning. The low-end on the wobble bass is just a little oppressive and the kick seems a little under-served by that and its over-all volume, in the mix. Don't be surprised if Atlantis-AR comes in to complain that it's a little over-mastered.
Still, happily downloaded and added to my collection. You have a new follower. Nearly everything else about this tune absolutely kills in all of the good ways. |

| Cool choice of track to remix, its pretty nice.. but would have needed more work if it where to be played in dubset. |

Thanks man! Really appreciate it--will check out your tunes later this evening too!
All your comments are very fair--I was pretty obsessed with the level of the bass as it was my first dubstep attempt, and I was wanting it to have as much 'oomph' as it could. upon listening again, I agree the kick could match it better. and the mastering thing...again, was trying to make it sound as 'phat' as I could, and having very little experience at doing any subtle forms of mastering before, I'm not surprised if it sounds heavy handed at times (I did a kind of french-house mostly before this, and a lot of that is compressed to hell!) :p
@Subtle
Thanks and thanks for listening! Not surprised it would need more work to fit in with a dub/brostep set! |
