The business side is a little iffy, right now. If you can't pony up the funds to put an entertainment lawyer on retainer, you're ill advised to sign any contracts regarding professional management, let alone from a label who could put you in contact with such firms. AM Only (affiliated with Beatport) is the only such company I'm aware of that deals with DJ's and EDM performers, specifically, although there's probably more and I'm pretty sure there's a firm called Taxi that handles general musicians. Still, I think it's unlikely they'd look into representing you without a label's interest.
Regardless, I don't know too much about the business side of things. You might try the Production Studio as there are some people who are a little closer than I am to the seedy industry angles. I think most of the advice that you're going to get is how to represent yourself rather than relying on a management company to provide you with a steady line of gigs. |
