MySpace has been sold for $35M by News Corp after they bought it for $580M in 2005. Apparently Justin Timberlake and another media company join forces to buy it too.

What's next? ICQ sells for a couple 24s and a carton of smokes?
PivotTechno
$35 mil for a dead horse? Crazy.

Probably threw in some RIM shares to sweeten the deal.

I wasn't referring to the money. I was referring to the fact that MySpace went downhill fast once FB hit the internet, so it may be sad to see his baby losing popularity. :)

I never had a MySpace account, and never will...I thought the social networking part of the site was weak. But it was/is a great way to check out a few songs from bands coming into town. There are a few other new alternatives (soundcloud, bandcamp) but usually when I google a band's name their Myspace page is the first result.

I hope it sticks around at least for music purposes.
