One of my good friends and DJ partners has just released a phenomenal dub techno track on the label 'Thoughtless Music', and I thought several people here would like it. You can buy it on beatport. My friend is 'R. Audiard'. He also produces and deejays as one half of the group 'B-Tracks', Check him out here: http://soundcloud.com/b-tracks and here https://www.facebook.com/pages/B-Tracks/119461098128704, and solo, here: http://soundcloud.com/r_audiard

Ruoho Ruotsi - Pour Autant (R. Audiard Remix) by R. Audiard

quote:
S.F. artist and Def’child label boss Ruoho Ruotsi finally returns to Thoughtless following his remix of Rift for TLM020 with three tracks of fearlessly deep techno-dub. The primordial strains of ‘Pour Autant’ emerge from reverberant depths to form an expansive network of lithe, twisting strands that intertwine the central bass theme and stripped-down percussion which serve to keep it afloat in the vastness of its own created space. Emerging Boston artist R. Audiard steps up to deliver a more streamlined approach, balancing his subtle arrangement with an impeccably crafted low-end that’s designed for supple sound systems. ‘Loquebantur’ builds from primal scraps of percussion and abstract vocals, gaining momentum from impulsive rhythms until eventually unfurling in the form of an intergalactic hymn. Bringing us back to the wild aquatic sound he’s mastered through previous releases, Ruoho’s ‘Waiting For Troll’ is a late night meditation with cinematic scope. Haunting, dreamlike, primal yet cosmic, ‘Pour Autant’ is as unique a take on the fertile intersection of dub and techno as we’ve heard in quite some time.

Cool! Yeah I love this one. He's come so far with production it's ridiculous.

This guy builds tube amps from scratch and is a massive audiophile.

I also forgot to mention he and his partner John Barera have actually just started a vinyl+digital label and pressed up their first batch of records as 'B-Tracks'. The label is called 'Supply Records'. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Supp...80561158664732. They've recently secured distribution, including distribution overseas with one of my favorite distributors, but i can't say which one atm. Going to be a limited pressing though, as it's their first foray into vinyl.

And they've also got another (vinyl) record that will be released on one of my favorite Chicago labels soon here - Stilove4music.

He loves the dub techno, but also produces house music and some minimal techno.

So proud of him. :) Seriously, keep an eye out for the future!

I really like the spacey kinda drifting foreground with the "ravey" higher energy rhythmic stuff.

Works really well.
