No events for Guvernment?

I apologise before hand if this is answered somewhere in this forum, or if its common knowledge, but my first time of many visits to guvernment was last year's labor of love, and after being fed amazing events consistently since then (and going to my fair amount of them) why is there suddenly no more big saturday events? is it because Skyybar is open? or are they just hyping everyone for labour of love? i unno, maybe its been answered before hand. I'm just feeding a curiosity :D

If it's a locals night, those are still some of the best...

i agree, i'm not saying quality has gone down (if anything a little up), its still the best way to spend my summer saturdays in toronto :D I was just curious if this happens every year, is guvernment putting money in it's piggy bank to break it for labour of love? :happy2:

It's a 100% guess, but given it's the first year they're doing a 2 day LoL they probably want to ensure they keep the focus on selling out and making sure the event goes as good as possible. I don't think they took a break from big name bookings like this in previous years though. Couldn't really imagine it would be a cash flow issue given they're ran by Ink.

that weekend would sell out even if guv had one guest d.j..it always does no matter what kind of line up they have going

I'd say just wait and see in the next few days something will pop up

I wouldn't be too worried about sats at guv during the summer. back in the day the drink was happening and thats all you would need. i would take the opportunity to check out other parties in the city on sat nights rather than guv. not to knock the residents there, but the main events are guv during the summer are the times i would check out. during the fall/winter/early spring are the better times (i find) to go to guv. during the fall they usually have incredible bookings almost every week (sept+oct) which is why i say go explore during the summer.

but every long weekend during the summer is a good idea to check out guv. ive been to guv too many times on regular nights, which is probably why i have to save my guv nights for major events.

skybar is always a good choice though, never too packed and good to chill out on the patio.i i wish there was an express line just to get to skybar alone. makes the trek much easier.

^^^ well in said.

To add one point too, on big summer events at guv in the summer it's usually packed. Packed + summer = too hot and it's hard to stay cool and enjoy the music.

resident nights are by far my favourite at guv. Pure upfront music and not the same recycled sets that have an agenda behind them like what often happens with international guys.

There was zero crap in 2002...

All the crap was from 2006-2010...

It's getting better again though...
