Ear Plug suggestions

So after a long afterhour night or a massive, you realize that when you get out of there, your ears ring like crazy. Can get quite annoying, especially when it could take a full day or two to recover. And that's when you realize that your literally destroying your ears, but you don't want to stop, because you love the scene.

Do some, or many of you wear ear plugs? If so, what would you recommend and where to get them?

I bought a pair of Vaters at Italmelodie. They're made for drummers, paid them $20. Honestly I'm very happy with the purchase. You still hear the highs crystal clear, you feel and hear the bass just fine.. just everything is turned down a little.

Earplugs are like condoms. Just go to clubs with quality sound.

LOL... even with my earplugs Ben Klock just destroyed Stereo, the dance floor was so loud people who stayed that whole set without ear plugs probably have brain damage.

In its heyday you could have a conversation in front of the speakers at Stereo at peak hour and have zero muffling the day after a long night. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case.

If you're going to wear earplugs, don't do the ones with a cord connecting them. Or fluorescent ones. When I see someone wearing those, I don't think "wow' they're smart and thinking long term!". I think "Dork".

I've been going out for a long time, never worn earplugs, and the only issue I have is when there's a lot of background noise, it can be hard to understand people talking. Not bad, considering. It's like banging hundreds of girls without rubbers and getting mild herpes. Again, not bad... considering ;)

Amazing system or not, protecting your ears is a good thing because they do not heal like other parts of the body. Trust me on this one.;)

Of course, taking care of your hearing is smart. Chainsaws, loud machinery, etc, no need to spend your "hearing credits". Amazing set at an amazing club, pull the goalie and rock out I say.

Edit: I heard somewhere that taking magnesium supplements helps fortify the cilia in your ears, which otherwise would break and lead to loss of hearing quality. Never followed up on it much though.

Sorry what?

See, you damaged your hearing with those damned ear plugs!!

Ha a friend of mine at a rave in like 95 once stuffed toilet paper in his ears to protect them and it got stuck. Had to go to the emergency room. Dumfuk.
