You think so ?

but really.. is it a crappy head-phones or not ?
cause I'm about to buy them for 200 $ canadian.
Alccode
Well it's not like they'll fall apart in your hands as soon as you get them!!

They are usable and good enough for DJ'ing BUT you will find that the swivels will crack in time, and the leather pads will start deteriorating.

I have a pair of those as well (on top of the Senns) and right now they're at Sony for servicing - totally cracked right earcup swivel (cracked to the point that it's very close to falling apart even), cracked padding, and a very small crack appearing on the left swivel. I wonder if the techies will catch that minor crack though. Doubtful. Gonna have to send them in again once that side gives in. Thank goodness for the warranty.

Haha, a slight digression - I'm at the store to hand them in, and the manager is looking them over, you know, to see what's wrong. "How did they crack?" the guy says, and I almost laugh and am tempted to say, "Well ask the engineer that designed those swivels and you'll get your answer!!" :haha:

Anyway on top of that they're not very audiophile-quality either. Now you might not care, and many don't, but the mid bass is exaggerated, and as a result everything else is muddy...

My $0.02.
DJ Charlie
tough decision....

What to buy now...

I'm not an Audiophil while i'm mixing... cause I don'T really have time to enjoy the sounds... i'm enjoying the work done on my decks...
but I do know a few things..

I don'T like huge headphones...
and outside sound atenuation is a must for performing at gigs.

What to buy now.
DJ Charlie
Lol... what will be the Head-Phones on my Avatar ?

anyone ?

I, too, have a pair of Senn's HD-280 Pro's, and they are very very good. I see you have a pair of Sony MDR-V700DJ's - I have one of those too, before I got my Senn's. The HD-280's blow the Sony's out of the water in every single possible category in existence for headphones: sound, comfort, durability, quality, etc. etc.! Except for looks, the Sony's have that going for them. :D

The one thing that makes the Senn's absolutely must-have from a DJ perspective (as if the other factors weren't good enough) is that they isolate very very well! This means easier monitoring.

I highly recommend you get the HD-280's, especially if you will DJ with them. Try to see if you can personally buy a pair though, as there are some lemons in the line. Though the chances of getting one are very low. Just thought I'd point that out to you.

how much did it cost you to ship them Alccode?

someone said Etronics has cheap shipping but they have the 7506 to be more expensive than the Senns!

and DJ Charlie....have you looked into the Sony 7506? they are a smaller pair of phones
Milhouse
the 7506's are more expensive but as gluegun has pointed out on more than one occassion the V6's are the same (relatively) as the 7506's and they are much cheaper

http://www.etronics.com/product.asp?stk_code=sonmdrv6

albeit etronics don't have them in stock at the moment and may not ever get them as I think Sony discontinued them...

c'mon, what did you expect? people trying to earn some money, maybe not fair. but that's the way it is. they suck our pockets till there's nothing left. at least that's what sony is all about in such cases. either they produce y stuff, or they produce nice stuff at VERY unaffordable prices...
since they produce a new pair of headphones, they just add this tiny little extra and grow their prices to show of. it's sony isn't it ???
Special_K
how long is the cord on the sennheisers? I heard it was really short

Choobak
The cord's 3 meters long at full stretch.. it coils up to a little over a meter or something...
Fire999
Word! I am getting them! I would love to entice my ears with these babies...thanks for the contribution....

Gluegun: I'll get the Sony V6 in the near future, but for now...I'll like to give Sennheiser a shot!

Cheers :)
