Hey everyone, just thought i would see if anyone could stand behind 1 show or another this weekend, especially Saturday?
I know the show is going on @ end up w/Patrick M and peace treaty (don't really know much about them) @ Ruby...
Are there any other good shows or one of the above that someone woudl really stand behind?
it's my bday weekend and i'm a bit underwhelmed. |

markus schossow at ruby skye if trance is your thing
thats pretty much it, the rest is B or C-tier DJs and locals (not necessarily a bad thing depending on how they play on the particular night) |

is LA the hub of edm in cali? seeing the variety and how often big names come through nowadays i've been numb to the scene unless a really huge name comes through.
is SF on a lull or is has this been typical for the past year or so? |

a lot more money can be made in LA. Much bigger market and venues (clubs/festivals) have bigger capacities. Agencies love this b/c they can charge a lot more money for artists.
You'll typically see a bigger name DJ in SF on a Friday night b/c they are playing Saturday night in LA.
When DJ's play in LA, they play like because they're appealing the large (more commercial) audience.
When DJ's play in SF, they get to let loose and play a little of what they want (again... imo). |

ah i see. i think the other advantage is that playing in LA means playing in OC/SD that week too. seems that SF is losing out on weekend bookings that way. sucks... seeing how the LA vibe is pretty besides those rare occasions
edit: that and the washers. ugh. |
