How much did tickets start off at? People have been commenting on the MM Facebook that tix has already gone up. I got mine at $60 not too long ago. If it went up only 5 bucks I won't be too bitter but if it went up ten, thats freakin' lame b/c I've been waiting all day for the tix to go on sale |
Not sure how much they started at, but mine was $50 + svc chg, will call was the only delivery option. |

Ughh. I don't mind paying $60 plus fees for Armin Only.. it's still a good deal.. but $50 for AO, a giant halloween party and other WORLD CLASS DJ's, is a steal.
I'm so glad I didn't purchase tickets for Escape from Wonderland.. for a second there, I thought AO wasn't even going to happen anymore.. now all systems are a go!
So is this the first massive thrown in Orange County? |

Staybridge Suites Lake Forest
9 Miles from 2 Orchard, Lake Forest, CA 92630 to 5305 Santiago Canyon Road.
According to google it takes 20 minutes to drive 9 miles. I'm assuming because of the one lane each way?
Courtyard by Marriott Foothill Ranch Irvine Spectrum
27492 Portola Pkwy, Foothill Ranch, CA, 92610 to 5305 Santiago Canyon Road 7.7 Miles = 15 minutes
Hilton Garden Inn Irvine East/Lake Forest
8 miles from 2 Towne Centre Dr, Foothill Ranch, CA, 92610 to 5305 Santiago Canyon Road
but now if you stay in Irvine..
DoubleTree by Hilton Irvine - Spectrum
90 Pacifica, Irvine, CA, 92618 to 5305 Santiago Canyon Road.
14.6 Miles but it takes 19 Minutes because most driving is done on 133..
I say it would probably be safest to drive on Highway.. |
Hilton Doubletree Irvine Spectrum is $6 higher than Hampton Inn South Orange County (8.0 miles, "16 minutes"), and the Hampton also has free breakfast (all day from some reviews that I read) and free WIFI, though it's slow. Doubletree charges $9.95 for WIFI. Every Hampton I've stayed at has been oh so comfortable, so will probably stick with it unless freeway access makes a big difference. I'm guessing it will be a nightmare getting out of there anyway, maybe best just to hang out with Armin for a couple hours while everyone else leaves... ;) |

VIP better be worth it because last Armin Only I totally regret not getting it. As far as the venue, if it's the same one as Lightning in a Bottle then there is more than enough room to hold at least 150k people. My friends in Toronto and NY said they're flying out as are most people they know; basically just about every EDM fan in America is, I can only begin to imagine how big this event is going to be if it's the only Armin Only in America.
I just hope they recreate the same atmosphere and production as the last Armin Only because that was probably one of my all-time favorite massives. |

For those on a budget... its 59 a night at the Motel 6 in the city of Orange. :) 12 miles away.
Isnt this the same location where they had Bigger 2, like.... YEARS ago? I mean, like... 1999ish?
My friends and I lived in Orange when that party happened. We ended up having an afterparty at my apartment right by the Crystal Cathedral. A few of the djs ended up coming over to my place and spinning in my living room packed with people as the sun came up and everyone was going to church next door.
LOL
Good times. :) |

+1
This event is going to be huge. I don't care if there are two other massives being thrown on the same day, this event is going to make noise throughout the world. Armin Only + Carl Cox and friends + ridiculous wtf costumes - hostile noobs who will get filtered out to the other two parties = Best party in the world on Oct 29th-30th 2011.
I was worried about the production at first myself, but I believe AO's production will be handled by its own people, not GoVentures, which would be great news b/c GoV has been known for there not so stellar production.

With it being outdoor, I do see a minor setback in sound and lighting, but at least it'll be more spacious. And lets hope they don't barracade the crowd in by setting up walls in the back like they did with EDC's mainstage, that was wack. |

So just so I'm not mistaken: There is NO open bar in VIP, just special VIP cash bars, right? Since VIP is not 21+, that's the impression I get.
I've never done GA to a massive before, at both Noc and last year's MM I did VIP (and loved it), but without the open bar it's not worth it to me. However, if VIP -DOES- include open bar, I'm going to have to consider it.
EDIT: And don't forget what dashdash said, this event is going to have Carl Cox & Friends, too.
I'm assuming the Insomniac massive will snag all of the mainstream house for their event, which is fine by me cause it means the dudebro factor at MM will be at a minimum. :) |
