I think what Skills meant to say is that the rumor that LBL is spinning at Ruby Skye that night is false. I could be wrong, but I think that is what they were trying to say.

I don't think they would go out of their way to say that the rumor that LBL is NOT playing at Ruby Skye is false.

I was concerned about ventilation(e.g. etd.POP @Cow Palace) but that was not an issue. The venue was nice and clean as I expected since it's the Oracle Arena.

Music was great all night and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Arguably the best Skills party I've been to, but I haven't been to too many.

I heard that there was going to be free water, but no luck. $9 per bottle. o_0

Oh THERE was LOADS of FREE ALHAMBRA Water dispensers in the areas listed in the map.. So basically pay $9 for a bottle and refill your bottle!!! AWESOME STUFF!!

SUCH AN AWESOME PARTY!! I've been to many events, and this one was on point! Music was top notch! I felt everyone threw it down, Dash Berlin dropped mostly all vocals tracks and familiar songs, Markus slayed unicorns as usual! I was really surprised by LBL and Moby, enjoyed their sets! I was a bit diasspointed with Gareth's set, I was left blank when he dropped dubstep.. :conf: . The set up was great, finally some LED lights! Overall awesome party, big THANK YOU to Skills and everyone involved in making it happen!

He's been inserting in dubstep into his sets for the past few months and I don't expect him to stop.(Ferry did the same at Ruby Skye back in June) Brace yourself, you'll be hearing it more and not just from him. It was mostly a trance set, though. I personally don't mind as long as they mix it in at the right time, just like adding any other genre music into the mix to switch things up.

wow..what a great party .. i had anticipated hot cluster s but that woulda have had to been one of the most smoothest massives ever!!

PLUSES
-smooth entrance (took 4 minutes from parked car into entry into the party)
-close parking for the most part (it was $35 tho.. i managed to talk the girl into letting me park for free)
-5gallon water cooler refilling stations
-A/C was on blast.. it wasn't hot at all..nice and comfy
-bleachers extend all the way to the floor level.. u can sit in the bleachers and still have a nice view of the stage without being too far up (i.e. sports arena)

MINUS
-no security search..this is a massive in Oakland and u could have brought in a shotgun and been ok
-no 21+ wristbands..giving ID each time to the bar was a pain..my tokyo tea was $14 but they were made strong.. bar was nicely stocked.. sports arena sometimes cant make a lot of the drinks i want

music:
missed blaked and caught end of dash's set...he did lotsa vocals (Man on the Run.Waiting..etc).. Markus was dark and bangin which i enjoyed a lot.. Laidback was his typical self (i started getting bored at that point)..Moby was on point and hitting it hard(from the last time i saw him at EDC 2009)..as everyone else said..Gareth was meh.. i mean..that dubstep he dropped before his final track "On a Good Day" made me wanna puke a lil ..however i won't lie..the crowd ate it up...

fun times.. O.co Colisieum is a great place!

also being an 18+ event..the crowd here seemed more tolerable.. pple weren't out of control ..maybe it's a nor cal thing..*shrug*

Couldn't have said it better myself. It WAS the smoothest massive I've ever been to. On my way home, it dawned on me that it was never chaotic during the night as other times I've been to massives. I didn't see any fights, I didn't see any kids running around like a chicken with its head cut off, I didn't see craziness in the bathrooms, and I didn't see e-puddles all over the dance floor. Seats were comfy and had a great view of the dance floor and the stage so people who wanted to sit could still enjoy the show and still bounce on their seats without disturbing those who wanted to dance on the floor. It was just a very refreshing experience. And it was easy to go back and forth between seats and the dance floor. There was never a long wait anywhere. We had to wade our way through the line to meet up with friends who were ahead in line(because we had willcall tix) and everyone was friendly and let us go ahead without issues. People were awesome.

Yes, the security was very lax about searching. In hindsight, that was convenient for people who brought candies in but not cool for any potential weapons. I noticed the lack of 21+ wristbands right away going to the bar. I don't know why they did this but it didn't bother me that much.
