DJM700 headphone cue - has it changed?

Hey folks,

Just been asked by a student of mine why the music in his headphone gets louder when he raised the channel fader. Not being in front of him, I can't check - but he promises me the headphone mix is set all the way to the left (to cue only) and only the two cue buttons for ch1 and 2 are pressed.

My experience with Pioneer mixers has always been that doing this will just play the two tracks over each other relentlessly, with only the Gain and EQ controls affecting the playout (apart from the headphone cue controls obviously) - but has the 700 got some kind of squiffy setting somewhere that could cause this?

He also promises that the Master Control is all the way to the left too - so there shouldn't be a master bleed into the headphones anyway.

Hopefully going to take a look, but if anyone knows of this as an existing problem so he doesn't have to wait, I'd love to hear it.

Cheers,

John

Have you tried splitting between Mono and Stereo? I had a similar issue with my 700 when I had it, that's what caused mine, I changed it without realising somehow.

If the Master Cue Button is pressed, that could cause it. But then again, if the knob is all the way to the left, than, hmmm not too sure.

probably bleeding due to using the phono inputs. double check that. phono inputs is for turntables only.
