Try Vocaloid software from Zero G (Sonika and Prima). You van create very convincing vocals with it, especially if you are after the heavily effected Reverb/delay style. They excel for vocal stabs and background vocals. I use Sonika and for $99 you can't go wrong. No, it's not "perfect" yet but still pretty decent. Yamaha, the creator of vocaloid will have version 3 out later this year.
Biggest plus id that you can simply drop out the Vocaliod tracks and replace them with a real vocalist who will then have a perfect 'map' for your vision of how you want the vocal sung.

Full disclosure - I have only been doing this for a year and in that time learn everything so I don't expect it to win a Grammy anytime soon ;) |
