So I've been having wicked lucid dreams of my ex-girl which ended circa 2001. Techno color vivid. Can't shake it. What is the message?

Repeatedly. Don't stop. Even when she accepts your awkward advances, make sure she really means it by repeated phone calls. If she's not there, leave messages, talking to her as though she could hear you. She's probably listening in, anyway.
Remember, trigger her mothering instinct by telling her how bereft your life has been, since the split. Talk about how you went to therapy for a while. Take up all the space on her answering machine with a mix-tape of songs which reveal, not only how you feel about her, but how you're a mess. Include every single version of "Creep" by Radio Head you can find, but play it only after songs you find particularly poignant about what the relationship could have been if you'd both tried harder.
Remember, mirroring will help you solidify your bond. When she gets upset, get upset, too, but don't just calm down when she's trying to. She's just trying to lull you into stopping your phone calls. Show her who's boss. Do these things and your dreams will come true.
Hopefully, your dreams don't end in tragically avoidable bloodshed. |
