Anyone else install the new Lion O/S yet? Likes/Dislikes? I think the biggest adjustment so far is the you have to scroll down to move the screens up, vice versa...trippy. Im sure theres a way to reverse that though, but figured I'd leave it for now to try something new.

Also, love how FaceTime is now like AIM and you can just stay on it, great for really bugging your friends at 4am in the morning hahahaha.

i'm trying to set up my FaceTime and its not accepting my log in id. even tho it works when i sign in to iTunes apple store. what the hell? i thought the scroll thing was pretty annoying "scrolling down" actually moves up the screen and "scrolling up" moves it down, so i changed it back to original settings. also, didn't really find the "mission control" that useful but then maybe its because i didn't get used to it?

edit: finally got the FaceTime set up but how do i add people and what not? only few people know of my email address associated with it so how would people add me if they don't know my email address?

I'm waiting until all the 3rd party software companies figure out how to update all the programs. I can't see my plug-ins working too good in logic with a brand spanking new O/S :nervous:

the scrolling can be fixed in the trackpad settings. i like the new look of ical, and i changed mail to go back to classic look. annoyed by how ichat is one combined buddy list for both my gmail and AIM accounts.

Lion is great, i have been running the developer preview for a month and the GM for about few weeks, finally installed the retail copy few days ago.

The pro's

Launch Pad: iOS like qucik access to your apps rather than having a mess in the dock or having to go to apps folder

Mission Control: Best feature for multitasking, you can have each app running on a dedicated screen, plus really easy to swich between them

AirDrop: Great drop box like feature for OSX lion users in close range.

AutoSave: awesome for office use, even if ur apps crash u still have a saved copy.

Recovery: Recovery has been made pretty easy, say if you decide to upgrade your hard drive, u take off the old one, and but in a brand new one, u can install the OS via wifi over the air rather than having any physical media. (i have not tested this yet) but seem really awesome atleast for me.

new photobooth face traking and eye tracking is cool to show off to my niece and nephew.

Con's:

too much iOS like. they are trying to take it towards a controlled environment as far as the application dev is concerned. By having all the major dev's make target apps for the app store. This way apple get 30% of all dev profits. but on the other note this is good for noobs who dont know they can go to the app store and avoid unverified content form the internet. (con for me anyway)

Scroll like you said is in reverse order, because that's how scroll naturally is on a touch screen, but its not really a con, just something im not used to, but can be switched to orignal settings if desired.

The back gesture for browsers in snow leopard is the gesture for switching screen for launch pad.

plus the new back gesture on safari if used after logging out of facebook/gmail still shows the content there before signing out.

Do not like how preview keeps open the old files i opened and not close them completely unless done manually

The OS is great, powerful but still quite a few bugs that im sure will be addressed in future updates.

ps there are a lot of issues with adobe apps.

I installed it on my macbook and no problems so far. I'm a new a mac user myself after switching from pc few months ago so can't really comment much on the new features. I don't really use the gestures, launchpad or mission control like I should.

The speed has been great and no problem with bootups either. I installed a SSD on mine few days before Lion install so that definitely did help the overall performance.

My only complain so far is the bug that doesn't let me preview my mp3 icons. It's most likely the new iTunes or a bug on the OS.

Cathode is a visually awesome OS X terminal and it has a C64 theme. You could run a C64 emulator in that and have teh awesome

Waiting a little to install Lion, though that new 13" MB Air looks nice. Time for an upgrade.

yeah i have it set that i'm always one OS behind the current one to avoid any conflicts. i'm on 10.5.7, i guess it's time to goto 10.6 now.

oh btw if you guys want a compatibility chart for plugins and DAW's, this one on sweetwater is pretty good and updates pretty much daily:
