So true... Welcome to the future. Produce tracks -> create hype -> market hype to DJ shows = big booking fees and lots of em. There's your $$$.

Probably a lot.. Think of how many people bought tracks like 'Grindhouse', 'Spastik', and 'Charlotte'.

So.. are you saying that we shouldn't support his productions because he makes more than enough cash from touring?

I see a day when you will get big enough so that you could have a schedule like that and I'll be there to support if/when I can..

I'm not going to say not to support. I buy tracks very rarely and simply don't support every single copy cat track out there just because I know the person.

I used to say everyone's a d.j, now everyone's a producer

definitely, you're right ;) i say you should buy a track from someone only if you enjoy that track (even if you know the person). i don't know about others but thats what i do. I have a job so i'm able to spend a few bucks a month to get stuff i want off beatport/juno. The only time i will look for a download link is i cannot find the track any other way.

I also don't like shoving my music down someone's throat, if they like my they will get it legally.

the reason i buy is because i know how little many good (relatively unknown) producers make and small support really does go a long way.

sure everyone is a producer, but how many of them are pretty damn good at their craft, and signed to respectable labels in their chosen genre? take a look at the music producers section on ta, it really is damn hard and you have to be dedicated 100%. you cant really compare it to djing at all(you really have to be a master to pull off amazing tracks). Some people find the sync button on their laptop and become club djs, its great eh? btw everyone is a photographer these days :p
