sugar beach has been open for awhile now.
the new sherbourne commons park, which is just east of the corus building, opened this past week. |

| Toronto really really needs to stop calling anything without sand touching the water a "beach". It's embarrassing when a tourist shows up at HTO or Sugar looking for a beach and just finds a pool of sand surrounded by concrete. They're nice, but the term "beach" does not apply. |

I just saw something similar in Vienna, Austria. They have "beach bars" all along the canal (which you definitely can't swim in). They even import sand and set up lounge chairs. |

| I wonder if you can hear music from skybar there? I'm thinking it could be a good option when I'm broke. A bottle of jack, some sand and good tunes. |

But they have the same things in London and Paris. That means its acceptable, right? If the cool kids are doing it too... |

| There's a new 5,000 outdoor concert venue beside Molson Amplitheatre called Echo Beach. It's got sand. I'm really curious to check it out. |
